INTRODUCTION:

STORY:
The *Leviathan* anime tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world submerged under vast oceans after a mysterious cataclysm. Humanity clings to survival on floating cities while massive sea creatures known as Leviathans roam the deep. The story follows a teenage girl named Aira, who discovers she shares a mysterious psychic connection with one of these ancient beings. As tensions rise between the ruling factions seeking to control the Leviathans and rebels trying to understand them, Aira must uncover the truth behind the catastrophe that reshaped the Earth and the hidden power within herself. The anime blends sci-fi, action, and emotional depth, exploring themes of survival, identity, and humanity's relationship with nature.
Review :- I loved the books as a kid so I was nitpicking a lot of details (left out the red spotlight x bats thing, stormwalker was more ponderous in the book, etc) but considering that an anime adaptation is the last thing I ever expected even in my wildest dreams (I always wanted an adaptation with the artstyle of Keith Thompson’s amazing book illustrations), I’m appreciative. It’s pretty decent.
