STORY:
**Golondaaj** is a Bengali sports biographical drama that tells the inspiring story of **Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari**, regarded as the *Father of Indian Football*. Set in colonial Bengal during the late 19th century, the film follows Nagendra’s passion for football, a sport dominated by the British. Challenging both the colonial system and societal norms like caste discrimination, he forms India's first all-Indian football club and leads a team of local players to compete against British regiments. Through determination and unity, Nagendra and his team achieve a historic victory, symbolizing resistance, national pride, and the beginning of India’s legacy in football. The film blends patriotism, sportsmanship, and social reform into a powerful narrative of courage and revolution.
Review :- Dev has done a great job. When I was watching the film with my brother, all we were talking about was that his growth in acting is a great achievement in itself. There were many close-up scenes where flaws are easily visible, but here there was not a single flaw. There were many twists in the film that no one expected. The best part is that this film is a great tribute to the father of football in India. You get the feel of the 1800s throughout the film which makes you think how difficult things were during that time. Isha had very less screen time, but she played the character well. And Anirban, wow! No spoilers, but his dialogue delivery and acting are amazing. These actors really define the beauty of Indian cinema which can reach new heights. John Bhattacharya is also going to be a hit actor very soon.
